HPV Vaccination

Gardasil® (manufactured by Merck & Co) is a vaccine developed to prevent cervical cancer and other diseases caused by certain types of genital human papillomavirus (HPV.) The vaccine protects against four HPV types, which together cause 70% of cervical cancers and 90% of genital warts. The vaccine is given through a series of three shots over a six-month period.

This vaccine is available at Student Health Services. It is a series of 3 injections at 0, 2 and 6 months. To make an appointment to receive the HPV vaccination, please call (860) 486-2719.

NOTE: If your insurance plan is Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield, CIGNA, ConnectiCare, HealthNet, Tricare or UnitedHealthcare we can submit a claim directly to these carriers for you. This does not guarantee the service will be covered! It is your responsibility to contact your plan at the number listed on your card to find out if this vaccine is covered. Please do this prior to receiving the vaccine. If your coverage is through any other insurer the fee will be posted to your university fee bill or you can pay by cash, check or credit card at the time of service. Our business office can provide you with a receipt that you may submit to your plan when requesting reimbursement.
